Who can I go to when I wan to fix a broken pottery vase? Can I do it myself?
Q. I have a pottery vase that has been broken at one part at the back of the vase. I tried gluing the pieces back together, but they don't quite fit together and there are many pieces missing because they been turn to dust. All I want is just something to fill in the gaps, cover it up, and maybe mask it with a similar color. The break is in the back so it doesn't have to be perfect.

A. You can fix it yourself about as good as anyone else. Get some anerobic glue or often called that majic glue that sicks together your fingers. apply to both pieces to join. When you are all done get yourself some ordinary tile grout at Lowes and some cement collorant to suit your color. Add that to grout. Fix the crack seams best as you can. Then sand it smooth with wet/dry 2000 grit paper using wet always. It will look really good.
